Yamira relocated with her husband to McCrorey Heights in 2023 – quickly resonating with the community’s generational roots as homes stay in founding families. She aims to see the neighborhood play an influential role in the development of Charlotte’s West Side mimicking the way previous residents preserved McCrorey Heights’ heritage amid past pressures. Yamira also seeks to deepen ties between residents and Johnson C. Smith University given the historical connection and benefit of engaging our city’s only HBCU as her family puts down roots.
