Monique and her family moved to McCrorey Heights in December 2022 with the goal of community and belonging. At her first neighborhood association meeting in January, she knew she wanted to be part of doing good work in the neighborhood. With deep affection, she refers to McCrorey Heights as Wakanda, and her Midwest upbringing shapes her vision for a safe and vibrant environment for neighbors to connect and thrive, all while showcasing and celebrating the beauty of Black excellence that abounds throughout the neighborhood.
