Shauna moved to McCrorey Heights in 2019, initially drawn in by the welcoming sense of home. She has grown to cherish and want to protect the neighborhood’s powerful history amid rapid cultural erasure locally and nationally. As both a proud resident and preservation advocate, Shauna’s vision spotlights celebrating Black excellence past and present by safeguarding the stories, culture, and identities that have defined McCrorey Heights for over a century. She seeks to uplift this heritage of community success even through the transitions occurring in surrounding areas.
